WRCC - Mission Statement

Worldwide Relief of Children in Captivity
(WRCC)
Mission Statement

Sometimes, I would like to ask God why He allows
poverty, suffering, and injustice
when He could do something about it.

Well, why don't you ask Him?

Because I'm afraid He would ask me the same question.

The heart of our mission work is to provide sustainable, God led ways to break the chains of poverty for the most vulnerable children in developing countries.

Our focus began with trafficked children on the shores of Lake Volta in Ghana, West Africa, but has grown to include vulnerable children worldwide.  Our approach is two-fold – prevention and liberation – but both components are one and the same – to establish sustainable resources for these children so that they be empowered to break the cycle of poverty and live life to their full potential.

Spiritual and financial poverty are at the root of slavery – to prevent slavery and to break the cycle of slavery, each child must be empowered with the resources he or she needs to overcome the poverty that holds them captive.

In 2011, we teamed up with Touch A Life Foundation in Ghana, as well as PACODEP by raising awareness and supporting the building of the Touch A Life Care Center in Kumasi.  You can read more about our fundraising miracles here, and the results here.  As of September of 2012, 47 former child slaves now have a permanent home at the Touch A Life Care Center we helped build.

In 2012, we focused our efforts in Haiti and Cameroon, and in India in 2013 and 2015.

As part of our holistic approach to breaking the chains of poverty in Jesus' name, we also support 13 children through sponsorship with Compassion International.  For more information on how sponsorship prevents slavery, please read this post I wrote for Compassion's website.

To sponsor a child and make an impact on poverty and slavery, please visit our Sponsorship Page and follow the links -- there is a child praying for you to choose him or her.
